North India Theology Students’ Conference

Ecumenical Worship 2023

The North India Theology Students’ Conference (NITSC) commenced in the early 1950s, with Leonard Theological College (Jabalpur), Serampore College (Serampore), and Bishop’s College (Kolkata) as its pioneering members. Over the years, NITSC has grown significantly, becoming a vital forum for ecumenical fellowship, worship, and theological discourse. It strives to foster deeper understanding and develop innovative strategies for the church’s life and ministry through seminar paper presentations on pertinent topics identified by the conference. The annual conference is meticulously organized by the President, General Secretary, and Staff Advisor of the host college, supported by subcommittees formed from delegate colleges. Numerous theological institutions from different denominations, offering B.Th. or B.D. degrees or their equivalents, continue to join as members of the NITSC. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NITSC was not convened for the past three years. However, Bishop’s College, Kolkata revived the conference, hosting its 58th edition as decided by the business session of the last NITSC in 2019.
The NITSC transcends denominational boundaries, passionately engaging with contemporary issues while striving to establish the Kingdom of God. It embodies a commitment to spiritual growth and societal transformation.
